Another way to summarize this concept is to err on the side of caution. It’s a lot better to overcome expectations than not meet them. Internally, you want to exercise the same strategy. Your team should know what’s expected of them, and what you do expect from them should be slightly below what their total potentiality is. This makes things more comfortable for everyone.

Don’t Seek Exceptionally Swift Growth, You Want Reliability

Remember the tortoise and the hare. The rabbit took a nap and that turtle won the race. With business, you’ll likely have to take out loans here and there in order to get ahead. You shouldn’t make this too habitual. If you call in all your favors and push extra hard to get the ball rolling, you probably will, but you’ll have exhausted yourself before things are sustainable. If you push slowly and in a reliable way over time, you’re more likely to hit your stride and keep it.

Marketing Plans, Budget, Consistency, and a Developed Formula

Your organization needs to design forward plans and budget that are consistent. There is no formula or silver bullet which will hit your target profit over time. However, you can hone in your sites as you slowly push forward with your operation, following that which is known to be successful. Have flexible forward plans, and maintain consistency. Doing so will help you steadily approach something like an effective formula.
