If You Need Investors Then Start Playing Golf!

istock_000009077366xsmall2In my previous post I have discussed why it’s important to have a bigger bandwidth of techs to show off in the marketing process.

Most computer business providers do not have this in place because of a lack of funding and they will need investors to pull this off.

However, instead of offering you some sage advice on getting a proper business plan we say it’s high time to start playing Golf and maybe look at investing in some great face balanced blade putters to make your game an investor eye-catching one!

However, it is not just putters that are required for a game of golf. In order to show off your skills in front of your investors, it might be a good idea that you begin practising the sport at your home. For that, however, you might need a golf simulator, golf impact screen, golf-enclosure, and other golfing essentials. Remember that the more you practice, the more you improve. This can help you exhibit your skills and impress your investors.

Investors Play Golf

Of course you’re going to need a private placement memorandum and a solid business plan to get investors. And if you run a social organization that needs funding, you need to have captured the right metrics through software like UpMetrics (https://www.upmetrics.com/solutions-investors.html) to really show the impact that an investor’s money can have on your organization. But before any of that is needed you need to know some investors!

One thing I have noticed over the years is that there seems to be a lot of investors or people with money to invest who seem to have an affinity for Golf.

Therefore the best place to start meeting investors is in the club house or on the golf course… It’s also a great place to have a few hours to discuss business with a potential investor while having fun playing golf at the same time.

But if you’re golf IQ is zero like mine was a few months ago, where should you start?

Dress The Part

If you’re going to be a golfer then the first place to start is begin dressing the part. So the first thing you should do is go out to you local golf store and by some golf duds like golf shoes, golf hat, shirts, and pants.

The cool thing is that if you pick out some golf shirts that look cool you will end up wearing then all over the place on the evenings and weekends.

This is important because other golf enthusiast who also might happen to be investors will spot your golf logos and possibly strike up a conversation.

Let The Word Out

Next you need to start letting out the word in your social groups that you have taken an interest in golf. You will suddenly see that the golfers will contact you to find out about you level of interest in golf.

This is how you will get invited to your first golf game and start building your network of possible investors as the person you play golf with might not be an investor but they probably know one.

Don’t worry about going out and buying some expensive golf clubs before you ever step foot on a golf course. All you need to do is rent a golf set when you first start out.

Get Training

Most likely where ever you first picked up your golf clothes you will also be able to find some training services available. Normally you should be able to get some good classes for around $900 to $1200 and be able to make payments on these services. This is something you should take advantage of.

Once you have attended a few training courses and played golf with some of your friends then you will start getting the feeling that you at least like golf and hopefully the golf bug has bitten you. This will be the time that you start investing in some golf clubs as, after all, renting clubs can get pretty expensive. However, buying clubs that end up collecting dust in your closet or garage is even more expensive so make sure you like the game of golf before you double down on some clubs.

Finally, once you have had a few training sessions and bought yourself some clubs, you’ll want to start practicing yourself. You can either do this at your local club or if you would prefer to practice at home, you can invest in an indoor golf simulator. Whichever method you decide, make sure that your game is up to par before you meet with potential investors.

Which Club Should You Buy

This is a question that you should ask your trainer! However, once you have learned some of the basics of golf while playing with your buddies then it is time to start networking by inviting potential investors to play a round of golf.
