When it comes to marketing strategies more and more computer business providers are placing a premium on technology solutions. In other words, if there is a way to automate something or use a software tool to simplify human efforts for IT services marketing, then this automatically glitters as gold to your average tech provider. Now some telemarketing companies are polishing their service models by adding lots of razzle dazzle technology solutions in their overall marketing packages. You might be asking what could possibly be wrong with using tech solutions to polish off telemarketing. Well there is nothing wrong with that unless, just having raw talent alone might achieve better results!
For example, if you’re trying to put on a stand up comedy show and instead of booking ‘talent’ you try to simulate several stand up acts using nothing but software. While you might be able to put on an amazing show there would be one big thing missing and that would be the jokes and clever punch lines. All the technology in the world can’t replace the skill and rare talent that it takes to stand up in front of an audience and tell ‘funny’ jokes. Much in the same way some might think that a fancy technology solution might be able to replace the raw talent of experienced cold callers.
One example of this was a competitor that I recently saw who had come up with some amazing technology solutions for sending out information via email to phone prospects. It was also interesting that an admission was made that their firm can rarely set an appointment on the first call to a decision maker. Rather they have to develop that interest by sending information and making follow up calls to get IT sales leads. Of course, finding a way to automate this process is a great idea, the only thing that would be better is having a talented and well trained agent that does book most of their appointments on the first call and rarely needs to send any information to anyone!
True talent can often achieve results beyond the wildest dreams of the manager that is trying leverage technology to increase cold calling agents productivity. In fact just a few well trained and well managed cold callers that posses true talent can run circles around an army of other telemarketing agents that try to rely on technology.
